Art of Rebellion NYC

The second installment of Art of Rebellion is visiting NYC October 17th after a successful run in Santa Monica earlier this year. The show will feature renowned gig poster artists showing painted Iron 883 tanks and signature poster art along with photography by Adam Wright and Steven Stone. Pick up a poster or splurge on a tank-either way, a chunk of the proceeds go to the CUE Art Foundation.

Don't be like me...

I have to do a little traveling for work. Normally that would be a bonus, but not this time. While I am away I will be missing the two events I have been looking forward for months!
Friday is Dice Magazine's return to Brooklyn. The issue 28 release party at the Matchless Bar. Saturday is the Brooklyn Invitational Bike show at the Autumn Bowl. The name says it all! Don't be like me. Regret is the worst thing to live with.

American wins Custom Bike Building World Championship

050809cook_l

For the first time since its inception in 2004, an American custom motorcycle engineer has won the Official World Championship of Custom Bike Building. The winner, Dave Cook of Cook Custom Choppers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was voted World Champion by his fellow competitors at an event that defied motorcycle industry downturn expectations. With an increased field totalling 83 custom motorcycles from around the world (compared to 67 in 2008), this year's event is being widely hailed as showcasing the most advanced display of custom motorcycle design and engineering yet seen. The 51 year old Cook is an internationally recognized engineer and creative genius whose passion for design and engineering excellence had seen him be the winningest American in the past two years, having been fourth and highest placed American competitor behind an international top-three in both 2007 and 2008.

Just got off the phone with my favorite anglophile, Wes White. He is prepping for his annual campaign to win a land speed record at Bonneville. He needs 111 twice to get in the books. Keep your fingers crossed! Support!

2 Wheel Shindig Report

IH Todd had his annual hardcore chopper heavy metal throw-down DC shindig this past weekend. From all reports a good time was had by all. I am still waiting to hear who won the fine Biltwell Helmet we donated for a door prize. Todd tells me that the winner is proving a little hard to pin down. I am sure there is a good story in there somewhere. In the meantime bask in the glory of Todd and a guy showing his boobs for a free T-shirt!
